The Chartered Accountancy (CA) course in India, regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), consists of three main levels: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. Each level has a set of group-wise subjects.
CA Foundation (Entry Level)
The CA Foundation course is divided into four papers:
Paper 1: Principles and Practice of Accounting
Paper 2: Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting
Paper 3: Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics
Paper 4: Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge
Each paper is worth 100 marks, and students must clear all four papers to proceed to the next level.
CA Intermediate (Second Level)
CA Intermediate is divided into two groups, each with four subjects. Students can appear for both groups together or one group at a time.

Cost and Management Accounting
Paper 3: Cost and Management Accounting
Paper 4: Taxation
Section A: Income Tax Law
Section B: Indirect Taxes (GST)

Paper 7: Enterprise Information Systems & Strategic Management
Section A: Enterprise Information Systems
Section B: Strategic Management
Paper 8: Financial Management & Economics for Finance
Section A: Financial Management
Section B: Economics for Finance
CA Final (Third and Final Level)
CA Final is also divided into two groups, each with four subjects. This is the last level of the CA course.

Paper 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics
Paper 4: Corporate and Economic Laws
Section A: Corporate Laws
Section B: Economic Laws
Group 2

Paper 6: Elective Paper (Choose one of the following)
6A: Risk Management
6B: Financial Services and Capital Markets
6C: International Taxation
6D: Economic Laws
6E: Global Financial Reporting Standards
6F: Multidisciplinary Case Study
Paper 7: Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation
Paper 8: Indirect Tax Laws (GST and Customs)
Each group must be cleared to complete the CA Final level and qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
